As an endodontic patient, what should I expect?
Prior to any treatment in our office a complete examination is provided. It is needed in order to determine the extent of the pulpal injury and make sure that the tooth is a good candidate for endodontic therapy. Rest assured that no treatment is begun until consent for treatment is made by the patient and all questions are answered.
Treatment begins by thorough and complete anesthesia of the tooth and surrounding gum and bone. Once this is satisfactorily obtained the injured pulp is painlessly removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed.
Under certain circumstances (such as previous non-healing root canal therapy, extremely curved or obstructed canals, etc.), microsurgery may be indicated. If this is needed you should know that we are experts in performing this procedure, and utilize sophisticated equipment to ensure the best result.
